Why We Like It
The Citi Premier is a bit of a sleeper card, but it’s packed with potential. You can earn 3x points on several useful categories all for a reasonable annual fee.
Perhaps, one of the reasons it’s often overlooked is the fact that ThankYou Points don’t transfer to a US airline program.
Still, Citi has 14 airline transfer partners including Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, and Turkish Miles&Smiles. Those three programs alone cover SkyTeam, Oneworld, and Star Alliance.
You can also transfer points to 3 hotel partners. Choice Privileges is the standout as you can transfer points at a 1:2 ratio.
